Everything

A drawn heart on a piece of paper, offering comfort and kindness through a heart symbol.

I've shared countless precious moments with my parents, but recently, something truly beautiful happened at work. Just like anyone else, I have my moments of nervousness and struggle. I was having a tough day, feeling down for no particular reason. I was just sitting there, waiting for it to pass.

Then, a colleague noticed. She looked at me, saw my distress, and simply said, "You're going to be fine. Just take things easy." She drew a love sign on a piece of paper which was on my desk. That small gesture turned my entire day around.

People often assume we can soldier on without a second thought, but they don't realize how much a word of encouragement or a simple act of kindness can mean. She confided that she was also having a tough time, yet she chose to spread positivity. That alone lifted my spirits and shifted my perspective.

Whenever I glance at that love sign, it fills me with joy. It's a reminder of the power of kindness and the importance of keeping a positive outlook.

Small acts of love and kindness can make a world of difference to someone in need. Sometimes, a single compliment can save a life. We never know who might be silently struggling, waiting for a ray of hope. Let's make it a habit to uplift others and spread love wherever we go.

I'll always cherish this act of kindness from my colleague and friend. She embodies the beauty of compassion and empathy. May she be blessed abundantly, and may her life be filled with joy and fulfillment.

So, don't forget to show kindness—it costs nothing but can mean everything.
Melody Jacob holding flowers on Women's Day

I love celebrating Women's Day even more than I love celebrating my birthday. It's incredible to realize how much women contribute to making the world interesting and functional. As women, we hold immense power, both in our words and actions. We must use it positively. Being a woman is beautiful and magical, and I'm grateful to God for making me one.

Woman holding bouquet of flowers for Women's Day

My partner celebrated me on Women's Day, and I'm overjoyed. Though I didn't ask him about the meaning of the flowers he gave me, I appreciated the gesture. I pray that God blesses and guides him. He surprised me with the flowers on March 8th, and even though I was tired from work, I took photos of them on Sunday, and they turned out beautifully.

Beautiful woman posing with flowers on Women's Day

I would like to briefly touch on the topic that there is more to being a woman than just wearing clothes. I know that many women and girls have focused solely on outward appearance, but as a woman, you possess qualities beyond outward beauty. While external beauty is admirable, in today's society, social media often pressures women to prioritize their appearance over character. Women's Day is not just a celebration; it's a time to reflect on who you are as a woman, to assess if you are utilizing your God-given potential positively and honoring yourself appropriately. Regardless of age, a woman continues to wield significant influence throughout her life.

Blossoming Beauty: Celebrating Women's Day 2024

I just want to use this medium to remind you to take time out to reflect on yourself and evaluate if you have been on the right path. Women, you are strong and beautiful, and you have so much more to offer than what meets the eye. Don't let anyone limit you to just physical looks, you are capable of so much more. Remember let your looks give Glory to God.

So, let's talk about this dressing gown. It's by Hutson Harbour, and it's plain black, which I think looks super cool. It comes with a tie belt and hoodie, so I can wrap myself up like a cozy burrito whenever I want to feel extra warm and toasty. And guess what? It's made of 100% polyester, which is a fancy way of saying it's really soft and comfy. Plus, it's super easy to clean – just throw it in the washing machine, and voila!

He wanted to help me stay warm and cozy without having to crank up the heat and spend more money on bills. And let me tell you, this dressing gown has been a lifesaver! I've had it for over a year now, and the quality is still top-notch. It's like having a warm hug every time I put it on.

Model showcasing versatility by pairing Stone Ribbed Long Sleeve Bodysuit with Black Ruffle Skirt

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well today! I wanted to tell you about this cool top I picked up from Quiz clothing. It's called the Stone Ribbed Long Sleeve Bodysuit. Let me tell you, it fits like a dream, and the color looks really nice on my skin. I needed something versatile that I could wear to work every day and also mix and match with skirts and pants without any awkward folds, and this top was just perfect for that.

In a world where motherhood is constantly under attack, where we can no longer refer to women who have given birth as mothers, and where some people advocate for calling men "mothers" – a notion many, like myself, with sound minds reject – it's crucial to understand that a mother's role is irreplaceable. A mother carries the instinctual bond with her offspring until her last breath. She endures the pain of childbirth and brings her child into the world, a divine connection ordained by God from the beginning. A mother's love is unparalleled and eternal. On this day, I want to wish all the mothers a beautiful Mother's Day. Keep shining, and may God bless you.

Girl standing with her mother

Yesterday, on my way home from work, I popped into a store and found this lovely black top. With Women’s Day around the corner, I wanted something simple yet beautiful. I picked up a black stretchy zip-front bodysuit top from Quiz Clothing at Buchanan Galleries here in Glasgow. The best part? It was incredibly affordable and fits like a dream.

Afterward, I swung by the Africa store to pick up ingredients for a special Women’s Day meal. It turned out to be so delicious that I ended up eating with such gusto that I got filled and had to save some for this morning's breakfast.

To celebrate Women’s Day in style, I paired the top with pink floral flare pants from H&M and my trusty white Converse sneakers, a thoughtful gift from my partner. A pair of stud earrings from Quiz Clothing added a touch of sparkle. As for my hair, after a week of keeping it pulled back, I opted for a ponytail that I braided and wrapped around due to the rough texture at the back.

Oh, the joy of being a woman! It's truly the greatest gift from God – the ability to bring life into the world, nourish it, nurture it, and even sacrifice for it. It's an incredible privilege that fills me with gratitude every day.

On this International Women’s Day, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my mom, who dedicated herself to our family's well-being, sacrificing so much to make our dreams a reality. She's truly remarkable and has a heart of gold.

My mom is like a guiding light, leading us through life's journey with unwavering love and support. She's patient, always there to lend an ear, and I'm forever grateful to have her as my hero.

Her prayers are like a shield, protecting me from life's challenges. And her wisdom, oh, it's invaluable. From her, I've learned the power of prayer, hard work, kindness, and forgiveness.

She's also an incredible cook – a talent she's been praised for countless times. Her meals are a source of joy and comfort, bringing our family together in love and laughter.

Growing up, she instilled in me the importance of decency, modesty, and self-respect. And her stance against alcohol taught me valuable lessons about health and self-discipline.

But perhaps her greatest gift to me is teaching me the bible. Through her, I've learned to lean on God in times of trouble, knowing that His guidance will always light my path.

I owe everything to my mom and sister. They've shaped me into the woman I am today, and I'll forever cherish their love and wisdom.

Many women can relate to this, and I just want to say to anyone who gets to read this post that it doesn’t matter whether you are being appreciated or not in your own corner; just know that I appreciate you.
Evri, formerly known as Hermes: Delivery person stole my parcel for the fourth time.

On February 29th, I received an email notifying me that my package had arrived from a company called Evri, formerly known as Hermes. Upon returning home, I discovered that the parcel was missing from where it was supposed to be. I checked with my neighbors, but they weren't available. Immediately, I contacted the company to file a complaint. However, despite their automated response promising a callback, I never received one. Repeated attempts to reach them were met with their unresponsive answering machine. It seems impossible to contact them, and they don't attempt to reach out either.

The next day, after returning from work, I asked my neighbors about the parcel, but they said they hadn't seen any delivery, as they hadn't been around.

Checking Instagram, I found numerous complaints from people who had caught Evri drivers/delivery staff on camera stealing their parcels.

Here's how the scheme works: the drivers take a picture of the parcel, send you an email claiming it's been delivered to your doorstep, and then simply walk away with it.

My parcel has been stolen by Evri four times, and I'm frustrated by the lack of communication. I suspect this isn't just a problem among delivery personnel but extends to the company's management benefiting from these thefts.
I tried on these jackets in winter, but none of them were warm enough. They felt more like spring jackets because they weren't very thick. Now that winter is ending, I want to see if they have any left to buy for spring or the time just before winter.

I've been to the Next store many times, and the one in Glasgow is different from the one in Ukraine, especially in terms of quality. In my opinion, the quality and style of things in Ukraine are much better.

Anyway, which one of these Next jackets do you like?

Beautiful black woman holding a valentine's day card

February is almost over, and while we eagerly anticipate spring, the weather continues to fluctuate. I had been delaying sharing my Valentine's gift due to a backlog of posts. However, as February draws to a close, I decided it's now or never. I received flowers, a card, and plenty of delicious treats.

My partner surprised me with a lovely card and a bouquet of flowers. I cherish life's simple pleasures, finding joy in even the smallest moments. The card and flowers brought me immense happiness, filling my heart with warmth and countless smiles.

Receiving flowers is always a delightful gesture, although I understand not everyone shares the same sentiment. I texted my partner to inquire about the meaning behind the flowers and attached is a screenshot of his reply.

Even though the flower was near a window and heater, altering its look, I was determined to capture its beauty. I'm thankful for my partner's thoughtful gift, which brought me joy. I pray God blesses and guides him. Amen.

My Valentine's Day Gifts from My Partner

Black woman holding a flower

Last year, when I met up with my friend in Edinburgh, we had a good time. We enjoyed part of the Christmas holiday together, and it was amazing walking around the Christmas market. During one of her shopping rounds, she decided to gift me this bracelet. I was supposed to open it before Christmas, but I did not because I wanted to do it in my own time and also read the note she put inside at my own pace.

So, finally, I opened it this February, and I must say it is lovely. This bracelet is such a wonderful gift that I don't take it for granted. She has been an amazing friend and sister.

This Dyadema bracelet says 'sista,' meaning sister. I remember her writing a note in the hotel and putting it inside the gift, and I read it and just felt I should share it with you all. There are people you will meet, and you appreciate their presence in your life, and I really appreciate my friend.

Dyadema bracelet

I want to say a big thank you to my friend Ebubechi for this loving and beautiful gift. This 18kt gold-plated bracelet is made in Italy by Dyadema.

Before you ask me why I didn't open it, I have this thing where I just keep saving things that are so meaningful to me and also keeping them hidden from myself, lol, and then I say, 'Okay, I need to open it.' I am so happy to share her beautiful note; I appreciate every word.

Friendship note from my friend

Dear God,

Today, I come before You with a grateful heart, lifting up my dear friend to Your loving embrace. I declare ease in her life, Lord, and I ask that You keep her and make her shine brightly in Your light. Guide her steps, Father, and lead her along the path of Your divine plan for her life. Protect her from all harm and evil, and surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lord, when the time comes for her to enter into the sacred covenant of marriage, I pray that You will lead her to a man who fears You, a man who will love her unconditionally and support her in her journey. May their union be blessed by Your presence, and may they grow old together, hand in hand, walking in Your ways.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of friendship and for the opportunity to lift each other up in prayer. May Your will be done in her life, now and always. In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.
