Everything

Do you like listening to the radio just like I do? Oh my gosh, I love listening to the radio... It keeps me entertained and connected to what’s going on in the city where I reside. The fact that this radio is so portable is the cherry on top. No, tell me you don’t love this radio. It is giving off a rich vintage vibe.

For me, it was love at first sight. I used to buy mp3 players and radios during my secondary school days, but because I went to a boarding school, it was forbidden to use a radio or any other device like that. My school couldn't separate me from my radio because I was very careful and used it only after the lights went out (sleep time), but one day something happened.

I took my radio to night prep, which is a time when we all get to read and meet with our study group in the evening. I was a senior student and enjoyed the pleasure of being in senior secondary. I purchased a big radio that has a cassette player, rechargeable lantern, and radio. It was so popular at that time, and if you had that particular brand, you were seen as a big girl in school, so you should have that.

I got carried away one night during night prep because I was so hyped for some reason I can't remember. I was listening to my radio at night prep instead of reading, and the boarding house master came and seized my radio, and you know what? When the school seizes such items, you cannot get them back.

Normally, when we play music late at night, we keep a close eye out for the boarding house master, but I didn't see him coming, and he caught me red-handed.

I missed my radio so much since I loved listening to the midnight blues, and there was a programme that was one of my favorites; it was a programme whereby people call in and express or send love to the people who they love on the radio, or pick a song that the radio host would play for their loved one. I enjoyed that programme so much, but when my radio was seized, I wasn't happy, and my Saturdays were especially boring.

But one day, something happened. I was going to the boarding house master's quarters to buy snacks, and I saw that the master who seized my radio had brought out lots of seized items and kept them in front of his door. There were lots of contrabands seized from students, but I was lucky to spot my radio, and immediately I picked it up, hid it, and walked straight to my classroom. And we lived happily ever after with my radio while being careful.

I have always loved radios, and this Muzen OTR Portable Radio is more than just a small box; it is like my little communication buddy.

So let me start by introducing my buddy; I call her Ogadi, but she is popularly known as the MUZEN OTR Portable Retro FM Radio Bluetooth Speaker-Walnutwood, and she has the following features:

When this radio arrived, it was well packaged. It comes in a light brown leather bag that screams class. Oh my, when I opened the package, I was like, "Yeah, what in God's name is this lovely packaging?" I loved how protected it was from damage.

Here is a picture of the light brown leather bag. This bag can't just be for a radio, no way; I had to take a picture with it to add to my outfit. Isn't it so lovely?

The OTR WOOD portable radio

Model: MW-2I

Input: 5V-500mA

Li-ion 3.7v 100mAh

BLUETOOTH
This device comes with a Bluetooth module that lets it connect to all other Bluetooth-enabled devices. It is not picky, and it establishes a connection quite quickly. Both my iPhone and Android devices connect to Bluetooth.

FMThis is the reason why I look forward to the evening and after-work hours. After work, while I am disinfecting my phone, bag, and laptop, I just turn on the radio, and the calmness it gives me can’t be explained. At night when I am about to go to bed, the radio station plays lots of cool music, and I also get to listen to the radio before going to work, which keeps me updated with everything happening around me. I remember finding out that Nicolas Sturgeon resigned. It was an interesting conversation over the radio, with different people calling in to give their input and rate her service. I also learned about the plan for Scotland's law on low-emission zones. Other than that, I've kept myself entertained and informed by listening to the radio. This radio supports a frequency range of FM 87–108 MHz with good reception.

ANTENNA: This antenna is designed to help improve reception on your OTR Wood radio. (Detachtable).

AUX: This is basically an audio input, to which you may attach any player that you choose. This could be anything from an outdated cassette deck to a cutting-edge player like an mp3 player or even a smartphone.

MUZEN AUDIO: I call this speaker "small but mighty" because of its superior sound quality, wireless connectivity up to 32.8 ft, and lossless, crystal-clear sound from the 5-watt power amplifier processing, both outdoors and indoors.

DESIGN:The vintage design of this radio makes it both a radio and an ideal decorative piece for home décor. It is made of natural wood and has a vintage look reminiscent of the 1960s, as well as a built-in speaker with modern technology for a relaxing time.

A CHARGING CABLEThis charging cable is also brown to match the wooden colour of the radio. The cable is so durable.

BATTERY LIFE: Wondering how long I use my radio? For me personally, the battery lasts up to 2 days without charging it. Keep in mind that I work and that many times I turn it on by 5:30 p.m. and it stays on until the next day (morning), when I leave for work by 10 a.m. The 1000 mAh built-in rechargeable battery provides 10 hours of playback in Bluetooth mode and 20 hours of playback in FM mode. It has a significant amount of battery life.

A STANDThis gives a more comfortable viewing experience and provides stabilization. In my opinion, this is for aesthetic purposes.

They say that trends cycle back around – and the elusive vinyl record is the perfect case study. Considering recent technology trends, it’s not unreasonable to suggest that vinyl records would be wiped out of the picture, with only the most dedicated fans keeping the movement alive behind the scenes. Little did we know that they would hurricane back onto the scene, seemingly out of nowhere. In fact, stats show that vinyl albums brought in £12 million more in 2022 than CD albums did. Let’s take a deep dive into what might have prompted this resurgence.

What are vinyl records

In a nutshell, vinyl records are disks that store music. To play the music they need to be placed on a record player and once they rotate with a needle in place, the music starts to play. Typically, the needle runs inwards, starting from the outside edge. Vinyl versions of gramophone or phonograph records are made using polyvinyl chloride plastic, with engravings on each side. You often need to flip the record onto the other side to play the additional stored music.

What happened to vinyl records

As with many other day-to-day concepts, vinyl records were blown out of the water due to technological advancements. Similarly, the way we listen to music has changed over the years. The sheer quantity of music available to us now is almost overwhelming – and it changes in the blink of an eye, with new tracks knocking old ones from the top spot on a weekly basis in the charts. The concept of listening to a single album from start to finish isn’t on the agenda for many of us these days, with so many other distractions on the cards.
There is no doubt that technology has had a huge impact on the healthcare industry. From electronic health records to mobile apps, technology is constantly changing the way we deliver healthcare services. One of the latest trends in healthcare technology is the use of QR codes. QR codes are those little black-and-white squares that you often see on advertisements and product packaging. They can be scanned with a smartphone to access more information about the product or service. So what is the use of QR codes in health services? Let's take a look!

1) Drug Packaging

QR codes are becoming increasingly common on drug packaging. They can be used to provide more information about the drug, such as its dosage, side effects, and how to use it. QR codes can also be used to link to a video demonstration of the drug being used. This can be helpful for patients who are new to medication and want to learn more about how to take it. Additionally, QR codes can be used to connect patients with pharmacies that offer automatic refills or home delivery. This can make it easier for patients to get their medications refilled without having to visit the pharmacy in person. And, what's better, when it comes to generating a QR code, you can even customize it how you like. For example, you can add your own logo, and brand colors, and even change the shape of the QR code.

2) Clinical Trials

QR codes are also being used in clinical trials. Clinical trials are research studies that test new drugs or treatments. By scanning a QR code on a patient's wristband, researchers can access information about the patient's medical history and current medications. This helps researchers keep track of the patient's progress throughout the trial and makes it easier to retrieve data from the study.

3) Patient Engagement

QR codes can also be used to engage patients in their own healthcare. For example, QR codes can be used on hospital discharge papers to provide patients with instructions on how to care for themselves at home. Patients can also use QR codes to access information about their condition or treatment plan. This can help them better understand their health and make informed decisions about their care.

What is a hearing aid?

Unfortunately, as you get older, you will likely encounter more and more health issues, and hearing loss is one of the most common illnesses associated with old age. There are numerous indicators that you may be suffering from mild hearing loss. If you often mumble to people or have trouble communicating in groups, you might need hearing aids.

What is a hearing aid?

A hearing aid is a device designed to improve hearing by making sound audible to a person with hearing loss. Hearing aids are classified as medical devices in most countries and regulated by the respective regulations. Small audio amplifiers such as personal sound amplification products or other plain sound reinforcing systems cannot be sold as "hearing aids". #wikipedia

Can technology enhance the mental health of elderly adults?

Observing older individuals struggle with memory issues, low mood, anxiety, or a lack of ambition, especially during periods of physical separation, can be heartbreaking. You may be looking for alternatives to mental health consultations because you have to wait so long.

Reaching out to family members or religious leaders may be beneficial when discussing stressors. Alternatively, self-help books may empower older people who choose to keep their struggles private with new skills and perspectives. But with the rise of mental health mobile apps, telepsychiatry services, social media, and wearable technologies, what role does technology play in treatment?

Technology can improve the mental health and medication management of older adults.

Combating age-based stereotypes

Upon observing a loved one struggle with their computer, you may question whether technology-based therapy should be pursued in the first place. Despite the fact that older people may be reluctant to use new technology because of stereotype threat (the fear of confirming negative preconceptions), a little assistance from loved ones can alleviate technology discomfort. The usage of technology among older people has increased significantly over the past decade, bringing with it potential benefits for mental health, everyday functioning, and quality of life.

Moving to the virtual realm

A few years into the pandemic, a rising number of elderly people are seeing their doctors virtually. How effective is this for mental health? Several studies have thankfully demonstrated that virtual therapy is comparable to in-person treatment.

What about mobile applications that remove the human element? In this case, the findings indicate that mobile apps can be complementary but are insufficient as sole therapies for mental illnesses.

Privacy

When browsing online treatments, you should confirm that the platform is HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant, which means that your information is legally secured. Zoom and BlueJeans comply with HIPAA, although FaceTime and Skype do not. When using mobile apps for mental health, read the privacy policies. Red flags include disclosing or selling your information to a third party and using it for advertising purposes.

Which apps might elderly people benefit from the most?

Due to the rapid evolution of the market, it can be difficult to navigate the explosion of mental health apps for online treatment. Starting points for teletherapy services are Teladoc, K Health, and Doctor on Demand.

Wellness apps developed by the federal government (including Mindfulness Coach, COVID Coach, and CBT-i Coach) can assist in teaching skills, regulating sleep, and tracking symptoms to augment treatment of common mental diseases. For a reason, Medisafe is the most popular app for medication reminders: it provides superior privacy protection (and with the premium subscription, you can receive medication reminders in celebrity voices).

With rampant cyber threats, you must keep your laptop free from viruses. A computer virus can result in a damaged OS or even stolen personal data. Here are some helpful tips.

Be Careful What You Install

One of the most common ways of getting a virus is by downloading an infected file. Lesser-known programs, unauthorized apps, and pirated software often contain malicious code. A good anti-malware package will alert you when something is suspicious. However, it's best to stay vigilant about what you install. Sometimes a virus can be a challenge to remove. However, you can get rid of a potentially unwanted program (PUP) by removing it from your laptop. App removal is the first step. But the effects might also mean you have to reinstall your OS.

Don't Let Others Use Your Computer

While you can do all you can to prevent viruses and malware, others might not be as assertive. In addition, many people often ignore threats or are completely oblivious. For these reasons, it's best to not let other people use your laptop unless you monitor them. However, if you can't avoid this, try setting user access controls in your guest profiles. Access restrictions can block specific sites, disallow downloading and severely limit the interaction with your OS. However, as often is the case, user error will likely cause an infection.

How to add someone to WhatsApp without asking for their number

Today, WhatsApp is the primary program that most people use to stay connected. Neither calls, SMS, nor other platforms are as popular as the Meta app in Argentina as well as most of the rest of the world. However, it is a time-consuming procedure. If no one shares the contact information with us, it is time to get a new number.

Fortunately, there are several WhatsApp methods, one of which involves using a QR code to add a contact without asking for their phone number or scheduling it.

The only thing you need to do is be close to the other person and have WhatsApp open on both phones for a simple exchange using the camera.

Alexa and Prime fans who don't mind missing out on a few apps will love Amazon's Fire tablet lineup. With Prime Day approaching, the shop is offering Prime members a 40% discount on its largest slates for adults and children. The Amazon Fire HD 10 has been reduced to $80 from $150, while the Fire HD 10 Kids has been reduced to $120 from $200.

Both include a 10.1-inch full HD display, a 2 GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of extendable storage. It's worth noting, though, that the price is just for the Fire HD 10 with "lock screen advertisements." That means you'll see targeted adverts in the tablet's power-saving screensaver and at the bottom of the main screen. Once you've acquired the service, you'll have to pay a one-time fee to get rid of the sponsored communications for good.

HD 10 at Amazon - $80 Buy Fire HD Kids at Amazon - $12The Fire HD 10 is a great tablet for browsing the web, checking social media, watching streaming apps, and making Zoom calls. The major drawback is the lack of Google apps, as well as a general shortage of apps compared to the Play Store or Apple App Store.

If you were expecting to get a good price on Apple's latest, the iPhone 12 series, during Amazon Prime Day, you're out of luck - iPhone 12 deals aren't included in this year's sale.

That doesn't rule out the possibility of a terrific deal on one of the handsets. While Amazon isn't offering any discounts on the iPhone 12 series, other merchants and carriers are.

Let me start by encouraging everyone in Nigeria who uses Twitter for business to stay positive and strong. Buhari and his thug followers will not bring us back to a military regime.

If you are in Nigeria and you own a Twitter account you might be hearing a lot about using VPN to connect to your Twitter account.

What is VPN?
A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks.

The best VPN's for improving your online privacy and security that you can use for free are:
